PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric barrier discharge lamp easy to be manufactured and having an improved electrode configuration which does not spoil a beautiful appearance of the lamp. SOLUTION: The dielectric barrier discharge lamp includes a phosphor layer 25 provided in a discharge volume 13 which seals a discharge gas, and first and second sets of interconnection electrodes 16, 18, and 116, 118 isolated from the discharge volume by at least one dielectric layer. At least one of the dielectric layers is made as a wall of a discharge tube 2, both of the first and second sets of the electrodes 16, 18, and 116, 118 are installed outside the discharge tube. The discharge tube 2 is advantageous to include an outside tubular part 8 having an inner surface 15 and an inside tubular part 9 having an outer surface 17. The outside tubular part surrounds the inside tubular part, and the discharge volume is included between the inner surface of the outside tubular part and the outer surface of the inside tubular part.
