[Also in Group XXII] Apparatus for feeding sheets to a press comprises a base frame 11, Fig. 10, and a table 14 for carrying a stack of sheets 5 which is raised or lowered by hydraulic cylinders 15. Supported in cross members 13 of the frame 11 is a series of rolls arranged in groups of three the middle roll 17 of each group being a drive roll and the two end rolls 18 being magnetic rolls. The drive rolls are driven from a motor 20 which is energized by a pressure switch roll 21 when contacted by the top sheet of the stack S. This switch also energizes the magnetic rolls and shuts off pressure fluid to the cylinders 15 to allow the table 14 to descend. A limit switch 22 on table 14 is actuated when the last sheet is removed to prevent the table being raised until a new stack of sheets is loaded thereon. The drive rolls move the top sheet into engagement with pinch rolls 23 from which the sheet is conveyed on driven rolls 24 to another pair of pinch rolls 25 which feed the sheet into the press.
