PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of quickly starting imaging from a state of power interruption. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a grip switch 4 located at a position touched with a user's hand when the user grips a main body 2 of the imaging apparatus and closed by a force produced by gripping the main body 2; operation members 7, 10 placed at a position at which the imaging apparatus can be operable while the user grips the main body 2; and a control means that is started by applying main power when the grip switch 4 is closed and starts performance of functions assigned to the operation members 7, 10 when the operation members 7, 10 are operated after the start.
