PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP in which sufficient wall voltage is accumulated and plasma discharge can be generated efficiently. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel comprises a front panel and a rear panel, arranged so as to face each other and form a discharge space between them, a plurality of address electrodes formed on the rear substrate in stripe shape, a first dielectric layer formed on the rear substrate so as to cover the address electrodes, a plurality of barrier ribs which are formed on the first dielectric layer and divide the discharge space, a plurality of second dielectric layers which are installed at the lower side of the front panel in a direction of crossing at right angles to the address electrodes, a first and a second sustaining electrodes which are formed along the both sides of the second dielectric layers inclined mutually, a third dielectric layer which is formed at the lower side of the second dielectric layer so as to cover the first and the second sustaining electrodes, and a protective layer formed at the lower side of the third dielectric layer.
