ULTRASONIC OSCILLATOR AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic oscillator and its manufacturing method providing an ultrasonic image of high image quality by easily controlling directivity in a simple constitution and constituted by miniaturizing. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic oscillator 10 for a catheter includes a base section 11 comprising a cylindrical liquid crystal polymer attached coaxially with the tip surface of the catheter 20; attachment portions 11a disposed on an annular tip surface of the base section 11 in line and having a plurality of curvatures; first electrodes 13 disposed on the surfaces of the respective attachment portions 11a; ultrasonic elements 12 constituted by embedding piezoelectric ceramic arrays of 1-3 composite structure, which are disposed on the first electrodes on the surfaces of the respective attachment portions, in the polymer; and second electrodes 14 disposed on the respective ultrasonic elements.
