The support consists of a thick plate (1) with narrow air channels through it. A comparatively thin second porous plate (5) is placed on top of the first porous plate. A third porous plate (6) is placed on top of the second, and is divided into separated zones by solid blocks with air channels (10). The lower foil (11) is sucked downwards at this point to make grooves (18,19). The goods to be packaged (13) are placed in the desired position on the lower foil and the upper foil (14) is then placed on top. The air is then sucked out of the packaging.
