METHOD OF ENHANCING HEMATOPOIESIS-SUPPORTING ABILITY OF IMMORTALIZED HUMAN BONE MARROW STROMA CELL BY TRANSFERRING INDIAN HEDGEHOG GENE

It is intended to provide a method of further amplifying a hematopoietic stem cell, since an hTERT stroma cell can sustain the hematopoietic stem cell function over a long time of four weeks or longer but the amplification ratio of the stem cell is relatively low. By transferring an Indianl hedgehog (also called ihh) gene into an hTERT stroma cell with the use of a retrovirus vector, an hTERT stroma cell line (ihh stroma cell line) overexpressing Indian hedgehog is established. By using the ihh stroma cell, a hematopoietic stem cell can be strongly amplified.
