A composite coated wooden post having a wooden inner core that has been wrapped and laminated in a fibre reinforced thermosetting polyester resin. The exterior coating applied to this resin matrix has additives which colour and UV stabilize the post. The wooden inner core can be made from any wooden product, including timber and fibrous compositions. A combination of the coating, bound together with the inner core, greatly increases the durability, physical properties and strength of the basic wooden post. The post has been primarily designed for exterior applications, specifically for the replacement of CCA treated pine in such areas as vine trellising, fence posts, and general outdoor constructions. |
