PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extracting apparatus capable of efficiently extracting a specified substance, such as a nucleic acid, from a sample solution in a short time, capable of supplying pressurized air under an optimum condition according to a kind of the sample solution, capable of increasing treatment efficiency, and capable of preventing occurrence of contamination. SOLUTION: This extracting apparatus uses an extraction cartridge 11 having a filter medium to make the medium absorb the specified substance in the sample solution, wherein a pressurized air supply mechanism 4 for introducing the pressurized air into the extraction cartridge 11 is equipped with an air pump 43 and a pressure sensor 46 for detecting an internal pressure of the cartridge, so that the mechanism 4 introduces the pressurized air, hermetically seals the cartridge when the internal pressure reaches a prescribed pressure range for limiting the maximum pressure, and changes the prescribed pressure range according to the kind of the sample solution when the pressure is applied to the cartridge.
