NETWORK, RELAY TRANSMISSION APPARATUS, SWITCH APPARATUS, AND OPTICAL SIGNAL CONTROL METHOD EMPLOYED FOR THEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay transmission apparatus capable of eliminating the deadlock state of an automatic negotiation sequence between switches so as to restore the deadlock state to a normal state.

SOLUTION: The relay transmission apparatus 1 monitors a configuration code of the automatic negotiation sequence in data transmitted from a juxtaposed switch 3 and when detecting the fact of the transmission of the prescribed number of the configuration codes for automatic negotiation for a prescribed time, the relay transmission apparatus 1 discriminates that the automatic negotiation sequence between switches 3 and 4 encounters the deadlock state and informs an opposite relay transmission apparatus 2 about the result of discrimination. The opposite relay transmission apparatus 2 receiving the notice carries out the optical interruption of a transmission side to the switch 4 for a prescribed time.
