PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for inserting a coil, which surely insert a coil inside a slot insulating paper. SOLUTION: A coil inserting device 100 comprises: an insulating paper expansion fin 123 which penetrates an opening 171C of a slot insulating paper 171 which is inserted in advance in a slot 163 of a stator core 161 and comprises an opening penetrating part 125 that pushes and expands the opening 171C so that a coil 151 can be inserted; blades 101 which are arranged annular with the coils 151 held in the gap; and a coil stripper 111 for inserting the coils 151 inside the slot insulating paper 171 with the blades 101 as a guide, with a projection part disposed in the gap between the blades 101.
