PEPTIDOMIMETICS AND USES THEREOF

A cyclic beta-hairpin peptidomimetic comprises a reverse turn such as a beta-turn, first and second adjacent anti-parallel beta-strands flanking the reverse turn, and a p-hairpin stabilising motif, wherein the first beta-strand includes an amino acid sequence which is capable of forming a continuous beta-sheet with at least a portion of a beta-3-strand from an Al domain of Von Willebrand Factor. Also disclosed is a method of treating or preventing a condition associated with thrombosis in a subject in need thereof which comprises administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a cyclic beta-hairpin peptidomimetic according to the invention.
