Disclosed is a squirrel-cage rotor (1) comprising squirrel-cage rotor conductors (3) and a support (5) for said squirrel-cage rotor conductors (3). The support (5) is provided with axial grooves (9) in which the squirrel-cage rotor conductors (3) are accommodated. An axial groove (9) encompasses at least one closed groove section (11) and an open groove section (13) that is located between the closed groove section (11) and a cage ring (15). Also disclosed is a corresponding method for producing a squirrel-cage rotor (1) comprising a support (5) for squirrel-cage rotor conductors (3), which is provided with closed grooves (9). According to said method, squirrel-cage rotor conductors (3) are cast into the grooves or are inserted thereinto as rods, whereupon support material is removed in the area of the faces (29) of the support (5) in such a way that an open groove section (13) is formed. |
