PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phenol resin composition for a friction material capable of making the friction material superior in vibration absorptive properties without reduction of mechanical strength and its manufacturing method, and a mixture for the friction material using the phenol resin composition, which are performed as a result of various studies to solve problems found in a conventional phenol resin composition for the friction material and a conventional friction material. SOLUTION: This phenol resin composition for the friction material comprises a phenol resin and mica, in which they are dispersed and mixed. The manufacturing method of the phenol resin composition has a step of dispersing and mixing the phenol resin and the mica.
