The surgical instrument (1) known as micro-forceps is used in ophthalmological surgery and is provided with an adapter, assembly and kit for cleaning purposes. It has an operating rod (3) extending through a guide casing (4), near an outer end of which it emerges with a head. The hand grip (2) has operating devices for axial displacement of the operating rod between an inserted position in which an extendable part of the head is located inside the guide casing and an outwardly pushed state in which the extendable part of the head reaches in an axial direction past the outer end of the guide casing. Also in the guide casing is an aperture (9) for through flushing purposes.
