REFLECTOR AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING IT

A reflector and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) using the same are provided to widen visual characteristics of intensity of reflected light and improve the intensity of light reflected to a direction with a smaller reflection angle than total reflection. A plurality of reflective dented parts(70) with large diameters are formed at an irregular pitch on the surface of a metal film or mechanical equipment. A plurality of dented parts(60) with diameters smaller than the large diameters are formed between the dented parts with large diameters. An internal surface of each dented part with a large diameter has a curved surface as a part of a spherical surface or a non-spherical surface. An internal surface of each dented part with a small diameter also has a curved surface as a part of a spherical surface or a non-spherical surface. The metal film or the mechanical equipment where the dented parts of large and small diameters are formed has a discontinuous slope of a profile curve of a cross-section in a boundary between adjacent dented parts or in a gap between the adjacent dented parts.
