<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cellular phone having a television reception function of which functionality and efficiency in current consumption are improved. <P>SOLUTION: A control unit 5 is provided where the control unit 5 controls an ANT1 that is a transmission and reception radio section for normal telephones, a transmission/reception section 3 for telephones, a modulation/demodulation section 4, an open/close detector 6, a KEY input section 7, a memory 8, a speaker drive circuit section 11, and an LCD display control unit 12 each and exchanges information. Additionally, an ANT2, a reception section 14 for TVs, a voice detector 15, a picture detector 16, and a picture signal processor 17 are circuit blocks for television reception; and the supply of power to an entire television power supply 19 is controlled by a television power supply control unit 18. In this configuration, there are provided the open/close detector for detecting the opening and closing of the cellular phone; a television reception configuration section for receiving a television signal; and the television power supply control unit for controlling the supply of power to the television reception configuration section. The telephone is set to be in a folded state while the television signal is being received. As a result, the picture display of the television signal is stopped and a function for maintaining voice output is composed, thus solving the problem wherein the lifetime of a battery is shortened, when watching the television. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
