PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerization method with which occurrence of a polymer lump and a sheetlike material in a polymerizer, making a long-term stable continuous operation difficult and adhesion of a polymer to a stirring blade are reduced in olefin slurry polymerization. SOLUTION: The method for olefin slurry polymerization comprises polymerizing or copolymerizing an olefin in the presence of (A) a catalytic component for olefin polymerization and (B) at least one kind of a compound selected from (B-1) a specific amide, (B-2) a specific amine and (B-3) a specific ester in a hydrocarbon solvent to give an olefin-based polymer.
