<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a combination machine in which a function set by a user personally can be selected and used immediately. <P>SOLUTION: A user authenticating section 7 identifies a user by inputting a user ID and a password code using an operating section 9. When the user sets to use a copy function, a sheet size of A4, a sorter and a staple, the set data is stored at a user setting storage section 8 for each user. When transmission is performed subsequently to some destination using an FAX function, the set data is stored as the operation set data of that user. When the user uses the combination machine, the user is identified and when the user is authenticated, a call set mode is confirmed and setting is called. If the user does not use the setting as it is, the setting is altered and a desired processing is executed.
