IMAGE EXPOSURE METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the quantity of light with high precision on a monitor which is close to actual vertical scanning. SOLUTION: An image exposure device which exposes a sensitive material surface by scanning movement of an exposure head is equipped with: an optical fiber holding part 43 which movably holds the halfway part of an optical fiber leading to the exposure head; a photodetector 12 which detects the quantity of projection light from the exposure head 30 during movement of the optical fiber by the optical fiber holding part 43; a control means 80 which drives a semiconductor laser 21 in time series with pulses while moving the optical fiber holding part 43 in a state wherein the exposure head 30 is fixed; and a calculation means 80 which calculates the mean quantity of light from the quantity of light detected by the photodetector 12 and calculating the value of a current driving the semiconductor laser 12 from the difference between the mean quantity of light and the target quantity of light needed for the exposure.
