PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection screen of improved visibility, capable of clearly displaying an image by improving brightness distribution on the whole screen surface. SOLUTION: The projection screen 10 is provided with a polarized light selecting/reflecting layer 11 having a cholesteric liquid crystal structure of selectively reflecting light of prescribed polarization components and a supporting base 12 for supporting the layer 11. In this case, the supporting base 12 is formed to a half-pipe shape, and the layer 11 of uniform thickness is formed on the surface (recessed surface) 12a. The direction of a helical axis L in each helical structure area 30 of the cholesteric liquid structure of the layer 11 is controlled in the screen surface 41 so as to tilt larger toward the center part on the outer peripheral part side (refer to helical axis L<SB>P</SB>) than on the center part side (refer to helical axis L<SB>C</SB>) so that the light reflected by the layer 11 may be directed to a specified observation position (for example, a position of looking straight at the center part of the projection screen 10).
