METHOD FOR DETECTING AND QUANTIFYING BACTERIAL OR VIRAL AGENTS FOR BIOTERRORISM

The invention relates to a method for detecting the presence of a bacterial or viral DNA agent for bioterrorism consisting a) in detecting the presence of the DNA of a bacterial or viral agent belonging to a group of bacterial or viral agents whose DNA is used for bioterrorism and possibly of at least one coincident bacterial or viral agent in a sample to be tested, and b) in using a synthetic fragment of a positive test DNA, a big first fragment of a synthetic DNA incorporating the specific sequences of each of said bioterrorism agents, respectively and, if necessary, said coincident agents, the specific sequences being modified by substituting the part of a corresponding authentic sequence of the bacterial or viral agent by an exogenous sequence comprising a site for splitting by a restriction enzyme. In a preferred embodiment, said exogenous sequence is obtainable in different sizes, preferably higher than the size of said part of a corresponding substituted authentic sequence.
