<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for discrete wavelet transformation and a device for inverse discrete wavelet transformation that reduce the frequency of access to an external memory storing data to be transformed, thereby reducing built-in memory capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The device for discrete wavelet transformation, which performs a two-dimensional filtering process a given number of times for dividing data to be transformed into high frequency components and low frequency components, includes: a filter process part 703 for inputting a data string and separating it into high frequency components and low frequency components; a control part 706 that provides inputs to the filter process part in the units of blocks into which the data 700 to be transformed has been divided; and a block data memory 704 for temporarily storing the data already subjected to the two-dimensional filter process and separated by the filter process part. The control part inputs a data string to be transformed to the filter process part for the two-dimensional filter process, and causes the data subjected to the two-dimensional filter process to be inputted from the block data memory to the filter process part to make the filter process part further perform the two-dimensional filter process a given number of times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
