PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a POS system which supports confirmation work of objective merchandise to be registered so that even an inexperienced operator may conduct merchandise registration without fail and efficiently. SOLUTION: This is a POS system having a POS terminal with a touch panel type screen. A plurality of merchandise keys are arranged on a merchandise selection menu screen on the touch panel. When a merchandise key where a name of the object merchandise to be registered is displayed is depressed, a database including the merchandise information and the merchandise image is retrieved from the position of the key depressed, and along with the merchandise information, the merchandise image is output at the prescribed image display area. As a result of checking with the actual merchandise, when it is judged and input that it corresponds to the actual merchandise, merchandise registration can be conducted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
