PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conjugated fiber which comprises polylactic acid and a water-soluble polymer, has a specific conjugated structure, thereby has an excellent fiber-unreeling property and an excellent processing property, and can be split, and to provide a polylactic acid microfiber-using fabric which has been difficult. SOLUTION: This polylactic acid conjugated fiber comprising polylactic acid and a water-soluble polymer is characterized by partially exposing the polylactic acid on the surface of the fiber, having a conjugated structure in a radiation type, a parallel type or their mixed type, and giving polylactic acid fibers having a single fiber fineness of 0.02 to 0.3 dtex, after the water-soluble polymer is dissolved. By the invention, split fibers comprising the polylactic acid and having excellent weaving or knitting characteristics can be obtained with excellent fiber productivity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
