A traveling device is provided to move forth and back a movable toy and also rotate the movable toy without using a motor and a reduction gear, which remarkably reduces a volume of the toy. First and second magnets(1,2) having opposite polarities are spaced apart from each other on a base plate. A coil portion(3) is wound around the first and second magnets, and when electric current is applied to the coil portion, generates a magnetic force. An arm(7) is pivotally installed to the base plate by a hinge(4), and has one end secured to the coil portion. A control unit(11) is connected to the coil portion to apply the current to the coil portion. A power source(13) is installed to the base plate to supply the power to the control unit.
