METHOD FOR FABRICATING FRINGE FIELD SWITCHING LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

A method for manufacturing a fringe field switching LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to prevent the generation of X-talk by completely blocking a field affecting a liquid crystal layer using a common electrode and reduce capacitance between the common electrode and a data line by sufficiently covering the data line using a material with a low dielectric index. A gate electrode and a common electrode part are formed on a substrate(10). A gate insulating layer(11) is formed on the substrate. An active pattern is formed on the gate insulating layer. Source and drain electrodes and a data line(12) are formed on the substrate including the active pattern. A passivation layer(13) exposing the drain electrode is formed on the overall surface of the substrate including the source and drain electrodes and the date line. A pixel electrode(14) connected to the drain electrode is formed on the passivation layer. A material layer(15) having a low dielectric index, which exposes the common electrode part, is formed on the substrate. A common electrode(16) is formed on the material layer to be connected to the common electrode part. The common electrode is superposed on the data line.
