OPENING AND CLOSING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the certainty of operation of the opening/closing device for vehicles by improving the rotational detection accuracy of the output member.

SOLUTION: An opening/closing device 21 for vehicles has a drive unit 28 provided with an electric motor and a speed reducer 26 and a drum 51 as an output member is fixed through a power transmission member 61 in the output shaft 36 of the drive unit 28. A magnet 83 fixed to the external peripheral end of a disc member 86 between the drum 51 and the gear case 32a of the reducer 26 and the magnet 83 is rotated together with the drum 51 by fixing the disc member 86 to the power transmission member 61. A sensor container is provided in the container case 47 fixed to the gear case 32a, the magnetic sensor is contained in the sensor container. The magnetic sensor detects the rotation of the drum 51 through the variation of the magnetic field of the magnet 83.
