PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain simplified structure, improved assembling workability and tensile strength against cord pulling, for example. SOLUTION: The multi-core connecting type optical connector 1 is equipped with an optical connector main body 4 having a plurality of ferrules 2 in the front and a connecting part 12 in the rear, a multi-core bundled type optical fiber cord 5 having a plurality of optical fibers 21 to be fixed in the ferrules, and a plurality of housings 6, 7 which are connected to the connecting part and which fix the tension body 26 of the optical fiber cord 5. Flexible boots 5 are also provided which are connected to the rear part of the housings 6, 7. With a clip 41 fixed on the tension body, a contact part 40 and a storing part 38 for the clip are installed in the housings. The optical connector main body 4 has an extension tube 10, the connecting part 12 is formed in a strength member 13, and an elastic member 11 is elastically installed between the ferrule 2 and the strength member.
