The method involves transmitting IP address of a communication device towards another communication device by a signaling channel using a specific signaling mode of the channel. Each device is connected to an IP network by a subscriber line on which the signaling channel and a data channel transit. Transfer of data is effectuated after establishment of a session on the data channel. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a communication device for establishing data transfer with another communication device (b) computer program product comprising instructions for the execution of a method of establishing data transfer between two communication devices.
