PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a water modification device capable of preventing the defect in connection and reducing production cost by composing connections in such a manner that, even if the electrode sides are consumed, the electrodes and conductors are electrically connected. SOLUTION: In the water modification device provided with: an electrolytic cell 11 into which the water to be modified is introduced; first and second electrodes 12 and 13 arranged inside the electrolytic cell 11 so as to be confronted; one or more intermediate electrodes 14 arranged between the first and second electrodes 12 and 13; and a voltage application circuit 15 applying voltage between the first and second electrodes 12 and 13, and, where voltage is applied between the first and second electrodes 12 and 13 to dissolve Mg<SP>2+</SP>ions from respective electrodes 12, 13 and 14, and the water in the electrolytic cell 11 is modified, the first and second electrodes 12 and 13 are electrically connected via spring members 20 at each one end face.
