An information recording device scrambles a received file into a form reproducible only by a particular program and records the file on a recording medium on which identification information, for identifying the recording medium is recorded in an area (an area outside the logical address area) not accessible by the OS of a personal computer; records a scrambled file on a recording medium and, at the same time, generates identification information and records the identification information in an area outside the logical address area; records a scrambled file and dummy data in a format unidentifiable by the OS of a personal computer on a recording medium; or generates a scrambled file and dummy data as well as identification information and records the identification information in an area outside the logical address area.
