A method for adaptively inserting additional information into an audio signal, a method for reproducing the additional information inserted into the audio signal, and an apparatus therefor, and a recording medium for recording programs for realizing the same are provided to control the number of bit-robbed bits according to an energy level, to adaptively insert additional information into audio data, thereby inserting a lot of additional information while being applicable to various applications. An encoder determines the length of a reference block to calculate an energy level according to properties of an input audio signal(710). The encoder determines the energy level of the audio signal in audio block unit(720). The encoder generates an additional information data packet to be inserted into the audio signal, based on the determined energy level information(730). The encoder randomizes the generated additional information data packet(740). The encoder inserts the randomized additional information data packet into an audio stream in consideration of the determined energy level(750). If an energy level of a current audio block is low, a process of inserting additional information is skipped.
