METHOD FOR SCREENING AGGRECANASE ACTIVITY REGULATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of screening an aggrecanase activity regulator useful for treating or preventing diseases caused by lowering or enhancing of aggrecanse activity. SOLUTION: The method for screening comprises contacting ADAMTS-1 (adisintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin type 1 motifs) protein or its functionally equivalent transform body with an aggrecan in the presence or absence of a test compound and comparing the differences in changes caused by the aggrecane decomposition reaction under the above conditions.
