PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter to prevent pellets from contaminating (into a cooling water) without degrading a product quality and capable of a continuously operating with a simple construction. SOLUTION: In a granulating method comprising cooling and solidifying a molten polymer consisting of a thermoplastic resin in a cooling water circulated through a circulating cooling water tank and cutting it, the filter is arranged at an entrance of the circulating and cooling water tank and is a complex filter with a double structure comprising an upper filter detouchable and a stational type lower filter characterized by that a sieve opening of the upper filter is smaller than that of the lower filter to prevent pellets from contaminating into the cooling water.
