PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snow melting apparatus with excellent practical performance capable of extremely efficiently melting a large amount of snow by a simple structure. SOLUTION: This snow melting apparatus comprises a snow block throw-in box 1 having an opening part 8 embedded at a specified position and allowing snow blocks 10 to be thrown therein, a heat source 2 installed at the bottom part 9 of the snow block throw-in box 1, and a draining mechanism 3 creating a state in which the thrown-in snow blocks 10 is brought into contact with the heat source 2 by draining molten snow water produced when the snow blocks 10 are molten.
