PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging unit capable of consecutively recording an excellent image while utilizing a zoom function during photographing of a moving picture. SOLUTION: A digital camera 1 provided with two imaging sections 2, 3 records image data obtained from one imaging system (e.g., the imaging section 2) to an internal memory at photographing of the moving picture and displays the data on a display section 17. When a zoom key 11 is operated, the digital camera 1 applies zoom adjustment to the other imaging system (e.g., the imaging section 3) and displays the image data obtained at that time on the display section 17 as a zoom adjustment image in contrast with the recorded image, and when the digital camera 1 receives a switching instruction or the like by the operation of a switching key 12, the other imaging system having been used for the zoom adjustment is switched into the recording.
