An apparatus for automatically granulating slag, discharged from a blast furnace, is provided to manufacture a good granulated slag with a homogeneous grain size so as to simplify the work of a following process, and to improve the operation rate of granulating facilities by preventing the granulating line from being stopped. The apparatus for automatically granulating slag by supplying a cooling water to a slag on a runner(120) of a blast furnace so as to endow the slag with a constant grain size and then by feeding the slag to a granulating system so as to produce the granulated slag includes: a sensor(60), detecting a temperature in a stirring bath of the granulating system; and a sliding gate(32), arranged in a cooling pipeline(20) having a nozzle(25) for supplying the cooling water. The amount of the cooling water to be supplied to the runner is controlled according to the amount of the slag, discharged from the blast furnace, by regulating the opening angle of the sliding gate(32) correspondingly to the temperature signal of the sensor(60).
