<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved header for a heat exchanger of low heat load. <P>SOLUTION: This header for the heat exchanger include a substantially flat base portion and a pair of stepped portions. The base portion is inclined at a certain angle with respect to a plane of the base portion. The header is provided with a plurality of substantially parallel slots separated from each other along a longitudinal direction of the header.
