<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce calculation amount for stable chase of an object of a chasing target, and to appropriately chase the object of the chasing target, even if the shape of the object of the chasing target changes. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel indicating an outline of the object is defined as a standard in a previous frame image among successive flame images; an area of range, corresponding to a maximum movable amount of the object, is set as a searching area; and a density range, where the minimum density value of the pixel included in the area corresponding to the maximum movable amount of the object is set as a lower limit and a maximum density value of that is set as the upper limit, is set as an allowable density range. The pixel, which is included in the searching area and has pixel value within the allowable density range, is extracted as a pixel indicating the outline of the object in the next frame image. A frame rate setting part 6 modifies the frame rate of a photographic means 1 so as to decrease, if the moving speed of the object is slow and contrast of the frame image is low. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
