PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large span steel grating structure and its construction method having flat and vast area such as an airport on the coast, provided with such strength that withstands large load when an aircraft lands, and constructed on water without destructing natural environment in an area of the sea. SOLUTION: Many studs 3 are erected at a predetermined interval on water bottom, and a synthetic floor slab 6 is arranged on an upper face of a floor beam 4 formed on a grid by combining steel beams like grating. Many square steel panels 1 reinforced by a main square frame 5 around the grating-like floor beam 4 are supported on the studs 3, respectively, and are integrally and mutually combined to place concrete 12 on these steel panels 1.
