PURPOSE: A plant gene family Pcr that confers tolerance to heavy metal and an organism transformed with the same gene family are provided, which transformed organism removes heavy metals from the polluted soil or water, so that the transformed organism can environment-friendly purify the polluted environments. CONSTITUTION: The plant gene family Pcr that confers tolerance to heavy metal is provided, wherein the gene family Pcr is selected from AtPcr1, AtPcr2, AtPcr8, AtPcr9, AtPcr10 and OsPcr1; the gene family Pcr expresses a protein having the amino acid sequence which has 29% or more homology to the total amino acid sequence of a protein AtPcr1, and a protein containing a domain having the amino acid sequence which has 35% or more homology to the amino acid sequence of a transmembrane domain of the protein AtPcr1; the transmembrane domain of the protein AtPcr1 has tolerance to cadmium; and the protein AtPcr1 is tissue-specifically expressed. A recombinant vector pYES2/NTC-Pcr or PGA1535-Pcr comprises the gene family Pcr. The transformed organism with the recombinant vector pYES2/NTC-Pcr or PGA1535-Pcr is provided, wherein the transformed organism is an eukaryote such as animal, plant and yeast and prokaryote.
