PURPOSE: An apparatus for temporarily cancelling a blocking function and a method for the same are provided to cancel temporarily the block function set to a predetermined channel or a specific broadcasting program when setting a reservation viewing or recording, thereby normally performing the reservation viewing or recording. CONSTITUTION: A command input member(100) inputs an operation command according to a user's manipulation. A microcontroller(110) sets a reservation recording or viewing function according to the operation command of the command input member, controls the set reservation recording or viewing of a predetermined channel or broadcasting program, sets or cancels a blocking function relating to the reserved predetermined channel or broadcasting program. An OSD(On Screen Display) member(130) generates an OSD signal according to the control of the microcontroller. A receiver(150) receives a broadcasting program of a predetermined broadcasting channel according to the control of the microcontroller. A receiving signal processing member(160) processes the broadcasting program received by the receiver according to the control of the microcontroller and mixes the OSD signal generated by the OSD member.
