APPARATUS FOR VACUUM-AGING PDP ELEMENT CAPABLE OF SHORTENING PROCESS TIME AND AGING METHOD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An apparatus for vacuum-aging a PDP(plasma display panel) element and an aging method are provided to shorten the process time by aging a PDP element at a vacuum state. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a vacuum chamber(10), a power supply terminal(7) for front panel, a power supply terminal(5) for rear panel, and a position sensor(8). The vacuum chamber accommodates a panel support(9a) for supporting a PDP element in a horizontal direction and is connected to a vacuum pump(12). The power supply terminal for front panel is electrically connected to a power connection terminal(6) arranged at a front panel(1a) of the PDP element supported by the panel support. The power supply terminal for front panel is arranged at one side surface of the vacuum chamber. The power supply terminal for rear panel is electrically connected to a power connection terminal(4) arranged at a rear panel(1b) of the PDP supported by the panel support. The power supply terminal for rear panel is arranged at the other side surface of the vacuum chamber. The position sensor is arranged at a center of an upper portion of the vacuum chamber such that the position sensor contacts the front panel of the PDP element and senses the volume of expansion of the PDP element.
