PURPOSE: An electronic device is provided to lessen a processing load with respect to a camera function of a lens unit of the electronic device and perform automatic focus control without frequently changing a zooming function. CONSTITUTION: An electronic device includes a zoom lens unit(100), and a host control circuit(201) for controlling major functions of the device and carrying out function control based on an image signal of the zoom lens unit driven by a control signal for designating a zooming function. The zoom lens unit includes an optical system(110) having the first lens group and the second lens group, a driver(140) for driving at least one of the first and second lens groups according to a driving signal, an image capturing unit(120) for generating a video signal based on light that has passed through the optical system, and a camera control circuit for setting the position of lenses of the first lens group according to the control signal for designating the zooming function and outputting the driving signal to the driver.
