PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a physiologically permissible means dissolving diosgenin and other sapogenins having similar structures thereto for a sufficient period to give a right storage state to a composition containing a sapogenin at room temperature, at a sufficient amount to obtain desired effects. SOLUTION: The composition contains, in a physiologically acceptable medium, at least one sapogenin and a solubilizing system comprising: (a) at least one non-emulsifying ester of a fatty acid and/or of a fatty alcohol whose hydrocarbon-based chain contains at least 8 carbon atoms, or a plant oil, and (b) a solubilizing system comprising at least one branched fatty alcohol whose hydrocarbon-based chain contains at least 8 carbon atoms and/or at least one fat-soluble UV screening agent.
