PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving information for digital multimedia broadcast service (DMB) service by which data can be speedily and easily decoded in a receiver. SOLUTION: The information transmitter for the DMB service includes, an FIC coder 110 for coding service information including at least any one of simplified PAT, deformed PMT, deformed IOD and ES descriptor in an FIC structure, a preprocessor 111 for performing interleaving and error correction on audio and video signals, MSC coder 112 for coding the processed signals in an MSC structure, a multiplexer 113 for multiplexing the service information coded in the FIC structure and the audio and video signals coded in the MSC structure, a modulator 114 for modulating the multiplexed signal, and a transmitter 115 for converting the modulated signal into an RF band signal to transmit.
