1,103,379. Current collectors. H. KRUEGER. 26 Jan., 1967 [28 Jan., 1966], No. 3969/67. Heading B7L. A third rail current collector has a collector shoe 1 in an insulating carrier mounted on a rocker arm assembly comprising two rocker arms 2 which are constructed as insulators and pivot on an axle 3, the shoe 1 being connected at 4 to an insulated cable 5 which conducts current to a connection terminal 8 of a cable leading to the motor of the vehicle. Each arm 2 has insulation rings 6 to increase the length of the creep path. The terminal 8 is insulated from the body of the collector by a ring insulator 9. The body of the collector is shielded from the live rail (not shown) by an insulation cover 7 through which the cable 5 passes. |
