PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized active camera device whose camera, driving means, etc., can be protected from external environments. SOLUTION: The active camera device is equipped with a spherical shell outer casing 1 which has an opening part 2, the camera 12 which is arranged in the outer casing 1 to image the outside of the outer casing 1 through the opening part 2, a camera support means 24 which is provided in the outer casing 1 and supports the camera 12 rotatably on mutually orthogonal Y and X axes in the center of the sphere of the outer casing 1, a 1st motor 6 which is provided in the outer casing 1 and drives the camera 12 to rotate around the Y axis, and a 2nd motor 17 which is provided in the outer casing 1 and drives the camera 12 to rotate around the X axis.
