摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a degree of oxidation of a sample simply, rapidly and accurately with high sensitivity and good reproducibility regardless of the kind or state of the sample, and a measuring instrument therefor. SOLUTION: In the method for measuring the degree of oxidation of the sample, the sample is irradiated with light and the initial intensity of light, which is emitted from the sample after the completion of the irradiation with light, is measured. The measuring instrument for measuring the degree of oxidation of the sample is equipped with a sample container which houses the sample having an opening part and of which at least the inner surface is coated with an oxidation-resistant material, the light irradiation means provided in opposed relation to the opening part of the sample container to irradiate the sample with light, a light detection/conversion means for detecting the initial emission of the light from the sample to convert the same to an electric signal and a coefficient means using the signal outputted from the conversion means as a coefficient.
